STUDIO GARZINO operates both in civil-structural engineering and in building construction engineering. With regard to this last aspect, the theme of design is addressed both at the scale of the building and at the urban and territorial scale. It combines innovation and research with a professional completeness, capable of responding to complex programs employing its articulated expertise and, when needed, a well-established net of specialised consultants (services engineering, traffic, economics, landscape design, graphics, light design).

The studio has designed and realised commercial, public, work and residential buildings, schools and universities, recovery of cultural and historic buildings, plans and master plans.

The studio has carried out intense activities in many parts of Italy. The urban design projects include several master plans, among which one in Cusago Visconti (MI) and the urban regeneration attending TNE Mirafiori area in Turin. Structural realisations include work places as the South Europe IBM Headquarters in Segrate (MI) and Corrire della Sera Headquarters in Milano, the Market Center I due Fiumi in Cosenza, Technogymn Village in Cesena (FC), several residential buildings in Firenze, Torino and Cuneo, new university buildings among which Campus Einaudi in Turin, and so on. Architectural realisations include many residential buildings, focusing in particular on social and public housing, many of which have already been built, paying attention to the delicate balance between quality, comfort and affordability. We consider each new project a unique challenge that has to find its own character through an intense discussion with the client and a deep perception of the location, and we think design is taking the full responsibility for the metamorphosis of today’s human and natural environments.

STUDIO GARZINO was founded by consolidating and renewing a professional, cultural and social commitment started by Oreste Garzino (1928-2001) at the beginning of the ’50s. He has carried out an extraordinary articulate, professional and administrative activities. A unique and unforgettable contribution to the studio.

• Prof. Ing. Giorgio Garzino Ph.D. (Chief Engineer, full professor 0008 area Civil Engineering – Architecture), permanent professor from 1999 to 2008 at the Department BEST (now ABC) of Politecnico di Milano and since 2009 permanent professor the Department ISEG of Politecnico di Torino. As indipendent contractor, he has over thirty years of experience in both building and structural design. There are many positions held both in the field of housing (private and public) and in that for tertiary and infrastructural works (offices, schools, hospitals, etc.).

• Ing. Stefania Soldano: civil engineer with decades of experience, with expertise in the design of reinforced concrete structures, iron and wood.  She has experience in design with seismic criteria.

• Arch. Mariza Pacaj: architect with competence in the field of executive architectural design with professionalism also in the field of three-dimensional computerized representation.

• Dr. Ing. Giacomo Garzino: civil engineer, with expertise in design of reinforced concrete structures and in economic analysis about building constructions.

• Dr. Ing. Emilio Perona: building engineer, with expertise in design of reinforced concrete and wooden structures.

• Dr. Arch. Enrica Prataviera: architect, with experience in architectural and urban design with professionalism also in the field of drafting works on the executive scale.

• Geom. Lucia Cravero: technical graduate with competence in executive architectural drawings with professionalism in 3D modeling design too.
